Maclab has a total commitment to quality. Customer satisfaction with our
finished product is paramount and for this reason there is rigorous quality
control from the moment our mussel farms are seeded, through to
harvest, production and final packing. Maclab has a patented mussel selection criteria which ensures
the finished product has maximum efficacy. Quality is achieved through staff
training, attention to detail and a sense of pride in producing a
premium product for the customer.
Maclab has implemented Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point
(HACCP) plans in its manufacturing facility which focus on identification
and prevention of hazards. Maclab's premises are licensed by the New
Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) as an export packhouse (PH508)
and Maclab is a registered exporter operating under NZFSA's stringent
guidelines.
New Zealand is renowned for its pristine waters and our mussel farms
are located in the beautiful surrounds of the Marlborough Sounds and
Coromandel peninsula. There is an extensive marine biotoxin testing
regimen in place under the New Zealand Shellfish Quality Assurance
Programme which ensures our raw material meets the highest standards.
Uniquely, we are a mussel powder producer which owns and operates its
own mussel farms, ensuring continuity of supply for our customers,
but most importantly, control over quality from the moment the mussels
are seeded. We think this is the best way to guarantee our customers
the best product.

Maclab's manufacturing facility is monitored on a continuing basis
by the NZFSA for compliance to New Zealand Industry Agreed Implementation
Standards (IAIS) and HACCP programmes.
We also conduct a Quality Assurance
Programme subject to internal and external audits. Critical control points
are checked and monitored throughout the manufacturing process and by
meeting these standards Maclab receives "Official Assurances" (Export
Certification) for our products.
New Zealand's reputation as a "clean and green" source of seafood and
nutriceuticals is hard won and we support all efforts to maintain these
standards.
